Iris Rosen, LCSW-R is the Director of Social work at the College of Optometry. She joined the college in this position in December of 1998. She has a Masters degree in social work from New York University. Ms Rosen also has post graduate certificates in adult psychotherapy from the New Hope Guild and adolescent psychotherapy from New York University.
She was the recipient of the Brain Injury Association of New York State (BIANYS) Chapter Champion Award in 2003 and the State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service in 2004.
Ms. Rosen was a member of the interdisceplenary team for the New York State Department of Health-Early Intervention Program that developed clinical practice guidelines for visually impaired young children (ages 0 - 3) whose recommendations were published.
Ms. Rosen is an Adjunct Clinical Professor at New York University School of Social work and a Lecturer at Columbia University School of Social Work.
She has many professional and community affiliations including the National Association of Social Workers, the New York State Society for Clinical Social workers and the New York City Medical Reserve Corps.
Her position immediately prior to joining the college was at New York Methodist Hospital as a social worker/domestic violence coordinator working in women's health and the neonatal intensive care unit.
