Biography

 

Dr. Richard J. Madonna is currently Professor and Chairman of the Department of Clinical Education and Director of the Office of Continuing Professional Education at the SUNY State College of Optometry.

He has lectured nationally and internationally on glaucoma, therapeutic drugs, retinal diseases, and ophthalmic imaging. He is a co-author of the texts, Emergency Care in the Optometric Setting and The Photoreceptor Integrity Line: As Revealed by Spectral Domain OCT.

He recently received the Alumnus of the Year Award from the SUNY College of Optometry’s Alumni Association as well as the New York State Optometric Association's Award as New York State Optometrist of the Year. He is a member of the Optometric Glaucoma Society. Dr. Madonna was formerly Director of the Optometric Residency Program at the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System, and was formerly Chief of the Optometry Section at the VA Medical Center in Castle Point, New York.
