Breakfast & Learn
The Breakfast & Learn series offers an assortment of CE topics including "Basic Science for the Clinician", which is a program offered twice per year. The goal of "Basic Science for the Clinician" is to improve the practicing optometrist’s understanding of the basic science principles underlying ocular conditions in an effort to prepare for the use of novel and emerging treatment modalities.
Each program is held at the College on a Sunday or Saturday morning and offers four hours of COPE approved & CE Broker approved continuing education credits. These programs have been developed based upon your suggestions.

"Approaches to Pediatric Neurodevelopmental and Related Disorders"
Presented by: Patricia Modica, OD & Cristina Llerena, OD
Course Description: This course utilizes a grand rounds approach to address neuro-ophthalmic conditions important to the pediatric population. Clinical presentation, evaluation, work-up and patient management issues are compared and contrasted with that of the adult population. Optic nerve diseases and anomalies, visual pathway, pupillary, motility disorders and amblyopia are all highlighted in this case-based presentation.

"Basic Science for the Clinician – Glaucoma"

Course Description: The first half of the course updates the attendee on the basic science of aqueous production and outflow as well as the structural and functional anatomy of the retinal nerve fiber layer and optic nerve. This provides the background information necessary to better understand new therapies and technologies that are being utilized now or will be used in the very near future for the management of the disease that will be discussed in the second half of the course.
