Session I 8:00 am -10:00 am Glaucoma Diagnosis : New Ideas
This course discusses new issues related to glaucoma diagnosis. Included is a discussion on methods to assess the optic nerve for glaucoma damage; methods to recognize angle closure glaucoma; and the use of the OCT clinically. A discussion on why individuals with glaucoma and other conditions are going blind and what we may do to prevent this from happening concludes the session.
Session II 10:30 am - 12:30 pm Glaucoma Management: New Ideas
This course discusses new ideas related to glaucoma management. Included is a discussion on which individuals tend to not take their medications and why we maybe able to improve adherence; what medications are being developed to reduce intraocular pressure; how glaucoma damage impacts a person ability to function on a day to day basis; and what methods we may use to detect glaucoma that is getting worse.
Session III 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm Glaucoma Diagnosis and Treatment
This course discusses evolving methods used to recognize early glaucomatous loss. In addition, a series of case presentations explain how glaucoma may be recognized and methods used to treat the condition.
