Program Description
Fromer Eye Centers provides comprehensive eye care utilizing state of the art modalities and treatment options. Our physicians are board-certified ophthalmologists and optometrists who have earned national reputations as top clinicians and educators.  We offer treatments for primary ocular care,  cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, strabismus, oculoplastics, corneal disorders, retinal detachments, uveitis and dry eye syndromes. We offer laser vision correction surgery.  Our practice provides comprehensive examinations for soft and hard contact lenses as well as eye glasses.

The program is based in the Bronx, New York.  The extern will have an opportunity to partake in a unique externship experience in a private practice setting with our optometrists and subspecialty ophthalmologists. The program will provide the extern a direct patient care component, a didactic component that provides advanced knowledge in ocular disease, and an opportunity to participate in utilization of the latest diagnostic equipment to treat and diagnosis a culturally diverse patient population.  The externs participate in management and co-management of the patient’s care under the supervision of a residency trained optometrist and/or a fellowship trained ophthalmologist.
