Locker Legacy

Dear Alumni,

For over 40 years, SUNY Optometry has educated some of the best and brightest optometrists in the profession.  We take great pride in your success and achievements.  Whether it has been many years or only a short amount of time since you left SUNY Optometry, you continue to make a positive impact now as an alumnus/a.

As a SUNY Optometry student, we spent a significant amount of time in New York City. In the past couple of weeks, New York and surrounding areas were severely affected by Hurricane Sandy, leaving thousands of people without power, water and even their homes. During this disaster, the College did its best to support our students, alumni, staff and faculty by providing access to the building for showers, heat, and internet access.

Since 2010, the College has been undergoing major renovations to enhance the quality of college community life.

As part of these efforts, beautiful new lockers were installed on the third floor in the new Student Center; a state-of-the-art, modern space where students and alumni can comfortably socialize. I am pleased to announce that the College and the Alumni Association are launching a new initiative which will allow us to leave our legacy at the College.  This is our opportunity to take our place in SUNY Optometry history! This new campaign will allow alumni to permanently name or sponsor a locker in the new Student Center. With only 300 lockers available, this is a special opportunity.

Click here to download a PDF brochure for details on how to proceed to name a student locker.  As always, we appreciate and value your support and contribution to the College and the Alumni Association.  It is because of your generosity that we continue to do great things as an institution. All contributions are fully tax-deductible.

Sincerely,

Julia J. Appel, OD, ‘91
Immediate Past President of Alumni Association
