How do I find a specific article?

See it in action

  1. When you know the article you want choose the “Article Finder” tab in SUNYOptSearch.
  2. Fill out the form including as much information as possible and press submit (Helpful Hint>: if you have a PubMed ID or DOI number for the article, you only need to enter that in the appropriate field).

How do I know if SUNY Optometry has a particular journal?

  1. Choose the “Journals” tab on SUNYOptSearch.
  2. Enter your term(s), select a search type from the drop-down menu, and click search.

How do I find books?

How do I connect from Off-Campus?

When you are off campus and want to access articles you will be prompted for log-in credentials.

How do I order an article that the library does not have access to?

  1. Use “Article Finder” in SUNYOptSearch to look for your article (see How do I find a specific article?).
  2. If no full text results appear click the link to ILLiad, our Interlibrary Loan service.

  1. Log in using your ILLiad user name and password (this may differ from your SUNY Optometry user name and password). You will need to register if you have not previously used ILLiad.

How do I connect to full text articles through Google Scholar?

  1. From https://scholar.google.com/ click on “Settings”

  1. From the left hand side of the page click “library links”

  1. In the search box, type “SUNY College of Optometry” and press “enter”

  1. Select the “SUNY College of Optometry – See it @ SUNY Optometry” check box

  1. When you perform a search in Google Scholar you should now see links to any full text articles in Google Scholar provided by SUNY Optometry

  1. If you do not see the “See it @ SUNY Optometry” link appear for a result it most likely means that the item is not in our collection. To order the article click on “more”
