Rose M. Badgeley Residuary Charitable Trust Awards Unrestricted Grant

The Rose M. Badgeley Residuary Charitable Trust has awarded the Optometric Center of New York (OCNY) an $8,500 unrestricted grant. The generosity of the Trust will enable the SUNY College of Optometry to continue to provide high quality eye and vision care to the most vulnerable New Yorkers; play a key role in training the next generation of knowledgeable and compassionate eye care providers; and help advance the body of research knowledge in the field, facilitating ‘lab to bedside’ collaborations between basic and clinical research scientists. This is the third grant from the Trust.

“We are delighted to renew continue our partnership with the Rose M. Badgeley Residuary Charitable Trust in this 40 th anniversary year, as we re-dedicate ourselves to providing leadership in patient care, education and research,” said Dr. David A. Heath, President of the SUNY College of Optometry.

The Optometric Center of New York is the allied and endowing foundation of the State University of New York , State College of Optometry, and is the primary source of private support for its patient care facility, the University Optometric Center, providing grants for projects such as a Homebound Initiative, Indigent Care Project and Scholarship Fund, among others.
