OCNY MISSION STATEMENT

The Optometric Center of New York (OCNY), founded in 1956 and chartered by the Board of Regents of the State of New York, is the not-for-profit and tax-exempt foundation affiliated with the State University of New York, College of Optometry. International in scope, its mission is to provide support for vision science research, patient care and scholarships and fellowships at the College and its clinical facility, the University Optometric Center. The foundation also promotes scholarly development in vision science and public health education in vision and sight development.

Underscoring its mission is the commitment by the Board of Trustees of the foundation to support outreach community programs for underserved men, women and children in need of vision care.
