Eyecare for Children
Vision helps children understand the world around them, build relationships with loved ones and reach fundamental developmental milestones. A child’s vision makes a big impact on how they grow and who they become. At the UEC we understand the importance of a child’s ability to see. We help children from infancy to adolescence see the best that they can and reach their full potential through our compassionate care and state-of-the-art technology.
A pediatric eye exam is different than an adult eye exam. Watch and find out how:
Comprehensive Vision Evaluations for Children
A thorough vision evaluation can detect and prevent serious problems. Evaluating a child’s vision requires a unique set of skills and proper diagnostic tools and equipment. Our team of optometrists, ophthalmologists and learning specialists are experts in pediatric vision care. Through a comprehensive exam, we gain a complete picture of a child’s visual health.
A comprehensive pediatric eye exam includes:
- Evaluation of eye and general health history
- Refraction and prescription of lenses for nearsighted and farsighted children
- Binocular assessment, including assessment of lazy eye and crossed eyes
- A complete evaluation of the health of the eyes
- Questions about school performance
