Dr. Javenes, Director of the Laser Eye Institute, is a graduate of the SUNY State College of Optometry where she did an externship at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point .
Following optometry school, Dr. Javenes went into private practice in Paramus , New Jersey and Orange County , New York . Since then, Dr. Javenes has been on the forefront of laser refractive surgery co-management, establishing several programs for co-management in the private practice setting.
Dr. Javenes is certified, in addition to the Bausch and Lomb Hansatome and Orbscan, as a Technolas 217 technician. Dr. Javenes has been certified by VISX as a certified systems operator for the VISX S3 as well.
Dr. Javenes feels her technical knowledge of the instruments, as well as her insight into her patients needs, allows her to provide patients, and professionals with the most extensive resources available for laser refractive surgery management.
Dr. Javenes has worked extensively with ophthalmologists, optometrists and their laser refractive surgery patients throughout the New York metropolitan area.
