The Student chapter of the American Academy of Optometry held their 2nd annual Student Fellowship Pinning Ceremony last Friday. The event is designed to honor students who have completed the requirements of the Student Fellowship at least year’s AAO Meeting in New Orleans. The AAO launched the Student Fellowship program to stimulate improved integration of all of the opportunities offered at the annual meeting, as well as to encourage involvement in the AAO from students, both now and after graduation.
The AAO Student chapter also works to encourage student scholarship as well as participation at the each year’s annual meeting. As the result of its work, last year the AAO Student Chapter was named SUNY Optometry’s ‘Club of the Year.’
