Research Open House Awakens Students’ Interests

September 27, 2016

The Graduate Center for Vision Research at SUNY College of Optometry hosted its Research Open House Wednesday, September 14. The annual event introduces first year students to the faculty and other current students with interests in translational or patient-based research.

This year’s speakers included Jennifer Nguyen, a third year Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) student who studies the effects of mild traumatic brain injury on the visual system, and Kevin Willeford, who chose to continue his studies through enrollment in the Ph.D. program after completing an O.D. and M.S. in Vision Science at SUNY Optometry. His research explores visual processes and psychological states.
