Nancy Kirsch

Bio

Nancy Kirsch is an assistant clinical professor at SUNY College of Optometry and former optician director of the Essilor Eyewear Center at the College’s University Eye Center (UEC). She has been a member of the SUNY Optometry community since 1990, offering 40 years of experience in the industry as a New York State licensed optician. As optician director at the UEC, Ms. Kirsch ensured all patients from children to adults were fitted with the correct eyewear while also supervising third- and fourth-year optometric interns and a team of ophthalmic dispensers. Her academic responsibilities include as lecturer for the second-year Integrated Optics course (Integrated Optics III) and lab focused on ophthalmic dispensing and as an instructor of lensometry for first-year students. In addition to these roles, she has contributed her expertise to published research in optometry and participated in several key committees at the College to enhance clinical care, administration, and education. Ms. Kirsch received a degree in psychology from SUNY Binghamton and an Associate of Applied Science in Ophthalmic Dispensing from the New York College of Technology.
