List the award(s) / scholarship(s) you have received
Dr. Stanley Eisenberg Memorial Award for Excellence in Practice Development and Administration Dr. Max Cohen Memorial Award for Commitment to Community Service

What does receiving this award or scholarship mean to you?
This award speaks to the hard work I had put in for the last couple of years and the unwavering support that my family has contributed along the way. It is a testament that people who come from a background like mine can achieve great things.

What drew you to the field of optometry?
I came into optometry due to a mixture of multiple vision research projects during my undergraduate studies and SUNY-Optometry's C-STEP clinical internship program. The two experiences introduced me to the world of eye care and the rest is history.

What are your plans following graduation?
I will be serving the US Army as an optometrist at Ft. Bragg NC.

What was your most transformative experience during optometry school?
I remember several hours of studying in the 12th-floor private study rooms. The sharing of information among classmates made it feel as though no one was left out which was nice because we are all in the same boat.

What advice would you give incoming or prospective optometry students?
Be a sponge and learn as much as you can. No class is insignificant, the goal of every lesson/class is to make you the best doctor to your "unknown patients."
