What does receiving this award or scholarship mean to you?
Receiving these awards lets me know that I am recognized for the hard work that I put in to create a more diverse and culturally competent environment at the college. It also means that more work can always be done to improve the institution’s values surrounding diversity.
What drew you to the field of optometry?
My passion for eye care from my own research and work experience. Also, the need for diverse eye care providers

SUNY Ocular Disease Residency
What was your most transformative experience during optometry school?
Becoming National vice president of NOSA for the 24’-25’ academic school year. I spearheaded a National virtual event to recruit minority HS and college students to the field of optometry
What advice would you give incoming or prospective optometry students?
You determine your success! As long as you stay driven, committed, and disciplined, you will indeed reach your dreams.
