Danielle Iacono, OD

Bio

Danielle Iacono OD, FAAO is an Associate Clinical Professor at the SUNY College of Optometry. At SUNY, she serves as the third year Clinical Education Coordinator, supporting clinical development in patient care settings. She teaches in the Clinical Case Management I–IV courses and Integrative Seminar I & II, where she emphasizes clinical reasoning and evidence-based decision-making. Her clinical research focuses on myopia control, contact lenses, and dry eye. She has served as a Principal Investigator on both industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials in these areas, and as a sub-investigator on more than 50 industry-sponsored studies spanning pharmaceuticals, therapeutics, imaging devices, and contact lens technologies. Dr. Iacono has held several committee roles, including prior service on the Faculty Executive Committee as the Professional Program Representative. She currently serves as Chair of the Curriculum Committee and as a member of the Institutional Research and Planning Committee. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wagner College and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the SUNY College of Optometry.
