Residency

Take your clinical expertise to the next level with a residency at SUNY College of Optometry. As a pioneer in postgraduate optometric education, the College has been shaping exceptional clinicians since 1974, when it established the nation’s first Vision Therapy Residency. Today, residents can pursue advanced training in specialties including Ocular Disease, Cornea and Contact Lenses, Primary Care, Pediatric Optometry, Vision Rehabilitation, and more.

With accredited programs offered at SUNY College of Optometry and leading hospitals, medical centers, and VA facilities throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, you’ll gain unparalleled hands-on experience alongside expert faculty and clinicians. Whether your goal is to become a specialist, educator, researcher, or leader in patient care, a SUNY Optometry residency provides the advanced clinical training, mentorship, and professional foundation to help you make a lasting impact.
